Vanilla Milkshake Recipe

Serves 1

Ingredients (Buy locally grown organic ingredients, if possible)

1 cup whole milk, preferably warm

1/4 fresh vanilla bean

Rock sugar (mishri) or raw sugar to taste


Equipment needed: Blender



1. Split the vanilla bean lengthwise into two halves, scrape out the sticky seeds (reserve pod for another use).

2. Combine milk, vanilla seeds and sugar in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately with spoon straws (optional).



Don’t throw away the pod, allow the pod to dry out for couple of days and add it to a jar of sugar to make vanilla flavored sugar. Remember milk should not be mixed or eaten with pulses, meat, sour fruits, melons, fish, banana, yogurt and salt.
