Tongue scraping is an ancient self-care ritual to remove the toxins from the surface of the tongue.
According to Ayurveda, our tongue is a good indicator of the state of our digestion and internal health. A white thick coating on the tongue indicates an increase of toxins and kapha in the body. Dry cracks on the tongue indicate vata aggravation. Bright red patches on the tongue indicate pitta aggravation. By looking at the tongue each morning, it is easy to keep a track of our digestive health.
5 Reasons why everyone needs a tongue scraper

- Improves the ability to taste

- Keeps mouth clean and fresh
- Promotes overall oral hygiene
How to scrape your tongue?
Tongue scraping should be done in the morning with the help of well-designed gold, silver or copper tongue scraper. Grab the two ends of the tongue scraper, extend the tongue and place the scraper on the tongue as far back as comfortable. Gently pull the scraper forward to remove the unwanted coating on the tongue in one long stroke. Repeat until your tongue feels clean and is free of coating (usually 4 to 5 times). Rinse the scraper between each scraping and wash the scraper thoroughly before putting it away. It is usually done after brushing the teeth in the morning (Our recommended: herbal toothpaste).
