Ayurvedic Cooking Class

This class is an introduction to ancient art of Ayurvedic cooking to help you learn the basic principles of Ayurvedic cooking, food combining and seasonal eating. Ayurvedic cooking class includes a full meal, Ayurvedic teaching and printed recipes!

✓ How to make traditional mung beans and rice in a clay pot

✓ Prepare dough by hand, roll and cook the whole-wheat bread (roti)

✓ Make slow-cooked seasonal vegetable with fresh herbs and spices

✓ Prepare fresh ginger pickle and cilantro dip (chutney)

✓ Churn delicious and digestive yogurt drink with roasted spices (Takra)

✓ Nourishing sweet pudding made with whole-wheat flour, clarified butter (ghee) and saffron

Cooking classes are hands-on, interactive and typically lasts 4 hours. Full meal includes mung beans, rice, seasonal vegetable, whole-wheat bread, chutney, ginger pickle, dessert and a digestive drink. I will provide all the ingredients and any special tools required for the class.

At the end of cooking class, we will all eat together and each participant will go home with a packet of recipes featuring the class menu and the inspiration to continue the healthy cooking journey at home!

Asafetida (Hing), Cumin Seeds (Jeera), Carom Seeds (Ajwain), Coriander Seeds (Dhania), Pomegranate seeds (Anardana), Roasted cumin powder, Roasted coriander powder, Turmeric Powder (Haldi), Gooseberry Powder (Amla), Dry Ginger powder (Shunthi), Red Chilli powder (Lal Mirch), Saffron (Kesar or kumkum), Ghee: home-made from cultured butter, Yogurt: home-made from whole milk, Grains & Beans: Rice, Wheat, Mung Beans, Seasonal vegetables (cauliflower or okra), Cilantro, Mint, Onions, Ginger, Lime, Rock Salt and Rock Sugar etc. 

4-hours Ayurvedic cooking class (per person) cost: $120
